Tribute to Fr LUIGI LAZZARI RCJ

Rev Fr Luigi Lazzari RCJ, is called to eternity. Fr Luigi Lazzari, one of the pioneer missionaries who sowed the seeds of Rogate in India, was called to the heavenly abode yesterday on 14/07/2024. He was born in Brescia, Italy, on December 31, 1948. He entered the Rogazionists’ house in  Desenzano in 1959 and after the year of Novitiate in Zagarolo he made his first religious profession on November 20, 1966. He did his theological studies in California being part of the newly begun Rogationist mission in the USA. He was ordained a priest on June 15, 1974. After being missionaries in different countries, he returned to Italy and was given different assignments in some of our communities. In recent years he was assigned to the community of Desenzano. Fr Luigi was a strong pillar in building up the Rogationist mission in India in its nuptial period, in 1988-89. His zeal for Rogate and the missionary enthusiasm were praiseworthy and instrumental in paving the way for Rogate in India. His jovial and hard-working presence indeed strengthened the spirit of those who were with him.  St Thomas Quasi Province thankfully remembers his contribution for the growth of Rogate in India. Let us offer our prayer to the Lord that in His mercy the Lord may welcome him into the joy of Heaven.  St Thomas Quasi Province expresses the deepest condolences and prayers for the eternal repose of the soul of Fr Luigi. May he rest in peace, Amen
