
Aluva, May 14, 2025 – The General Assembly, held from May 12th to 14th, 2025, has successfully concluded with the announcement of the new leadership for the QP. The assembly saw active participation from both on-site and online delegates, fostering a collaborative environment for reflection and planning.
The assembly commenced on the afternoon of May 12th, with the direct participation of Very Rev. Fr. Bruno Rampazzo RCJ, Superior General; Very Rev. Fr. Jose Maria Ezpeleta RCJ, Vicar General; and Very Rev. Fr. Brizio Giovanni RCJ, General Treasurer. Fifty members from the QP were present physically, while an additional thirty members joined the proceedings online. The initial day focused on the presentation of the outgoing government’s report, culminating in a Holy Mass presided over by Fr. General in the evening.
The second day opened with the Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Shajan. A significant portion of the day was dedicated to an Open Forum, providing a valuable platform for participants to seek clarifications, voice their opinions, and offer feedback. The afternoon session on the same day involved focused planning, as the assembly members worked on formulating proposals for the various sectors that will help the New Team to guide the QP.
The final day, May 14th, was dedicated to the presentation and refinement of these sectoral proposals. Delegates engaged in discussions, making necessary corrections and additions to ensure comprehensive recommendations for the new leadership. The morning session also included the finalization of the Formation Manual.
The highlight of the assembly was the announcement by the Superior General of the newly appointed QP government. The new leadership team comprises: Fr. Varghese Panickassery RCJ as the Major Superior, Fr. Babu Muringayil RCJ as the Vicar, and Fr. Lijo Kalarickal RCJ, Fr. Robin Arackaparambil RCJ, and Fr. Rinu Vadakkepurathan RCJ as Councillors and Fr. James Plathottathil RCJ as the Treasurer.
The assembly expressed its sincere gratitude to the outgoing QP government for their dedicated service and extended warm congratulations to the newly appointed team. The General Assembly officially concluded with a Holy Mass at 12:15 PM, presided over by the newly appointed team headed by Major Superior, Fr. Varghese. During the Mass, Fr. Varghese took his oath of office (Profession of Faith) and signed the necessary documents.
