Aluva, May 13, 2025: The second day of the ongoing General Assembly commenced with a spiritual note as Fr. Steny led the morning prayer. This was followed by a Thanksgiving Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Shajan, the Major Superior, who used the occasion to express his gratitude to the outgoing provincial leadership (QP).
Following breakfast, the day’s formal proceedings began at 9:00 AM with Fr. James presenting a detailed report on the economic affairs of the QP. The assembly then transitioned into an Open Forum, a platform for open discussion and dialogue, moderated by Fr. Jose Maria. This engaging session continued until the midday break for lunch.
The assembly reconvened at 3:00 PM for the afternoon session, which focused on the various sectors within the QP. Delegates participated in group discussions, divided into five distinct groups, to deliberate on key areas of operation and ministry. After a coffee break, each group presented their findings and insights to the wider assembly.
The Open Forum then resumed, providing further opportunity for questions, clarifications, and constructive feedback. The day’s formal sessions concluded at 6:45 PM with evening prayers (Vespers), after which the delegates proceeded for refreshment and dinner.
Later in the evening, at 9:00 PM, a brief but crucial meeting was held for the presidents and secretaries of the different discussion groups. The purpose of this meeting was to collaboratively formulate proposals that will be presented for consideration by the incoming QP government.
All then retired for the night, anticipating further fruitful discussions and developments on the subsequent day of the General Assembly.
