Iritty, April 22, 2025: The ordination of Deacon Mathew Manalel to the priesthood took place on April 22, 2025, at 8:45 AM in his home parish, St. Sebastian’s Church Madathil, of the Thalassery Archdiocese. The Most Rev. Archbishop Joseph Pamplany of Thalassery Archdiocese presided over the sacred ordination ceremony.

In accordance with custom, a prayer service was held at Deacon Mathew’s home on the eve of his ordination. Fr. Stany led the prayer, and Fr. Jaison, the vicar, delivered the message. Following the prayer service, Deacon Mathew went to a nearby church for personal prayer and final preparation for the following day’s celebration.

The ordination ceremony on April 22nd was attended by numerous priests, sisters, brothers, and lay faithful. After the ordination, the newly ordained Fr. Mathew was welcomed by his family with a bouquet, candle, and rosary. He then led prayer at home, bestowing blessings upon his family and relatives. The joyous occasion continued with the cutting of a cake, which he shared with all present.
