Pulpally, April 24, 2025: The ordination of Deacon Shone Perukunnel to the priesthood took place on April 24, 2025, at 09.15 AM at his home parish, St. Thomas Church, Marakavu, of the Mananthavady Diocese. The Most Rev. Bishop Alex Tharamangalam the Auxiliary Bishop of Mananthavady diocese presided over the sacred ordination ceremony.

In keeping with tradition, a prayer service was held at Deacon Shone’s residence on the eve of his ordination. Fr. Danish led the prayer, and Fr. James Puthenparambil, the vicar, gave the homily. Afterward, Deacon Shone went to Pulpally Town church for deeper personal prayer in preparation for his ordination the next day.

Many priests, religious, and lay people attended the ordination ceremony on April 24th. Upon his ordination, Fr. Shone was greeted by his family with a bouquet, candle, and rosary. He then led prayer at home, blessing his family and relatives, and the celebration continued with the cutting and sharing of a cake.
